I loved this book.  I find that those who didn’t like the OotP book (“Harry’s too whiiiiiiny,”) loved the movie.  Those of us who loved the book seem to greatly dislike the film.
I loved the book and felt it was true to Harry’s character.
ITA with the OP.  The attack at the MoM was completely different (and utterly pathetic) in the movie.
Although, I will add that I’ve since watched the movie a number of times and I do like it now, just not nearly as much as the book.

It did a good job introducing Bellatrix Lestrange in person but I agree that it was really weak compared to the book. While it doesn’t need to be dragged out I would’ve liked to see more tension in the scene with the DA members trying to find their way around. Harry’s just all “this is it” and there’s no sense of “holy shit what are we doing I have no idea where we are?” We don’t need to see Ron picking up a brain while giggling at everything, but it would’ve been great to see the DA fumbling around on their first big “mission” while the Death Eaters knew exactly where to go and exactly what to do.
