Bill O’Reilly standing up for Ellen DeGeneres - interview with Sandy Rios
Bill O’Reilly standing up for Ellen
Bill O’Reilly
WHAT.
A qualified bravo to Bill O’Reilly. And I cannot believe that there are fuckheads like Sandy Rios running around and being taken seriously by millions of people in America.
Unbelievable..but kind of nice.
I heard Glenn Beck gave a similar defence. So good work to them both here.
I think O’Reilly is right in his conclusion but not in his line of reasoning. He’s arguing that private citizens shouldn’t be lobbying a company to fire a spokesperson based on her lifestyle. I think that’s a reasonable thing to do; I, personally, wouldn’t want Snooki as the spokesperson for anything. But the “Million (40,000) Moms” aren’t upset with her lifestyle so much as who she is. Sure, Rios can couch it in terms of “marrying her partner” being something which goes against the current definition of marriage in most of America but the phrase “mainstreaming something which is offensive to Christianity” is where it’s becomes less about lifestyle choice and more about keeping those damn gays out of the spotlight lest our kids learn tolerance of others.
O’Reilly’s comparison to the McCarthy era is probably a little off, because it’s not being led by a Senator against a philosophy but by a collection of private citizens against other private citizens who are guilty of no crime but are not viewed by the campaigners as being worthy of celebration. So the Million Moms are more like the KKK than they are McCarthy.
